Aubrey Daquinag’s Your Soul Purpose: Manifest a Life You Love offers an accessible entry point for readers looking to shift their thinking about life. The book introduces key concepts to readers new to the self-help genre, including manifestation, exploring the inner world, and giving yourself permission to ‘fly’—to pursue what you truly want in life. Daquinag provides a lot of good perspectives and practical ideas here. While some of the book’s themes—such as a traditional gendered approach and moments of tough love—didn’t resonate with me personally at this time, I can see how they might inspire others at a different stage in their journey. The author references her own products somewhat frequently, which at times gives the impression that the book serves as a vehicle for sales. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with this approach, it occasionally detracted from the overall flow of the book. Daquinag’s previous book, Wander Love, was a beautiful look at her content work while travelling around the world on paid partnerships for tourism boards, airlines and lifestyle brands. Your Soul Purpose is a more in-depth look at the internal world, and while it doesn’t necessarily add anything new to the genre, it’s a solid read for those beginning their self-help journey. For readers of Louise Hay, Susan Jeffers’s Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway and Rachel Hollis’s Girl, Wash Your Face.
